Mentor Orientation
Mentoring can seem so easy. All you need to do is invest some of your time in the life of a needy youth. Sometimes it works out that way. Most of the time it is a long process that takes perseverance, knowledge and help from others.
The four-hour CMI mentor orientation gives you the information and perspective needed to be an effective mentor. It helps you look at mentoring from all sides: the child, the mentor and even the child’s parent. The sessions help you learn how to build a relationship through establishing trust with the child his or her family. It also gives you guidelines that will help you avoid critical mistakes.
