| Ministry Standards
Membership in the CAYM is an important public statement of your ministry's resolve to conduct it's activities in an effective safe manner that is also Christ-centered.
Application for membership may be submitted at any time after you ministry:

Has a written statement of faith affirming it's commitment to Jesus Christ in a manner that is consistent with biblical truth. It must show that you uphold the bible as truth and recognize Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Has sent the CAYM a written statement affirming that it is your intention to train and match only mentors who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
By signing the membership agreement, you are stating that your ministry:

Implements the three basic practices of a safe and effective mentoring ministry:

Mentor Screening
-
Training
-
Ongoing Match Supervision

Will provide the CAYM a copy of your annual budget and financial statement and an audited statement, if requested. You can fulfill this provision by being a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).
Please note:
We understand that there will be many differences in ministry methodology apart from the safe practice procedures of mentor screening, training and supervision. We encourage and seek to acknowledge the differences that exist due to our various communities, cultural subtleties and the creative way that our Lord gives gifts. We celebrate this freedom and the autonomy of our members. We also greatly desire to be used by God as a catalyst to share ideas, tools and inspiration so that God will be glorified and that His body may be built up.
Association membership can be dissolved by CAYM, the local ministry or an individual member for any reason at any time. | |
